Some say it is better to have lived fully than to have not.
the way we are all searching for that same small measure of peace
that affords a sense of quietude for our soul; we just go about it in
vastly different ways. Such is the diverse fabric of humanity
Full self-expression however, is not without its sacrifices.
Take my life for example. One of shall we say full shakti or big
energy During the process of learning to navigate such power, I
have been criticized and marginalized from the very circle that I
protect. From this experience I have learned a few things about
balance, service and self reflectivity.
As a self described pleiadian-star-warrior-super hero arehetype,
I have spent my life as a bodhisattvatantrika, or awakened energy
guardian, protecting and fuliilling all that is living This path
requires intensive tapas and svadyaya, or discipline and self study,
to get to the other side of the looking glass in one piece, and with
mindful heart intact. Through the confluence of daily practice
and its surrendering process, we learn the way of authenticity
without ineffectually swimming against the currents of the
nurturing source. We discover that middle path alignment, with
universal forces and principles, has its benefits. And yet, when I
see a happy face that conceals a stone heart, or watching the eyes
of an older man or woman that tells a story of an unfinished
dream, I stand firm in that which I am; and tremble slightly with
a deep feeling of awe and gratitude for a life lived so completely
I always pray for that miracle in everyones life to remain open to
love. Each moment is an opportunity.
Many people use yoga as a badge to project their repressed
passion or as a spiritual license to be unaccountable in matters
of the heart.
Such souls will, with grace, at the necessary moment
collapse and break open into a million beautiful naked pieces,
and remember everything until they forget nothing. I should
know; speaking from experience.
Today our intuition informs us that replacing our greed with
generosity one action at a time, is the
correct and direct approach to awaken
our light during this age of collective
consciousness that is upon us. Any master
worth their potatoes has a slight madness
in the back of their eyes. This comes from
years of ego stripping sadhana, or
practice, as the way to what the Zen
master's refer to as 'no-mind'; a pure state
I suspect we will need for times to come.
I also have a suspicion that my stripping
years have only just begun.
My very clear-minded japanese wife, who
carries our developing twin sons, recently
said that people who quit their dayjobs to
become yoga teachers, rebelling against
all things familiar (including family and
friends) in order to find their real guru or
true calling might - in many ways - be
off-track. She made a penetrating
point that people who simply work hard, teach well and develop
a lasting family and community are living closer to their own
resonant harmony
Ultimately it is the sakshi, our witness Self that is seeing out
deeply; smiling with deep acceptance, allowing us to Be Our
Selves.
